Hello, my name is Madeleine Cluck! I am a sophomore at Rice University majoring in Biosciences and English on a pre-med track, and I have been involved with Momentum Education for just over a month now. I started working with Momentum in late November of 2020 after I was introduced to the organization through a program at my university called America Reads, which I have been with since my freshman year. While I was involved with America Reads, I mainly tutored elementary-aged students, helping them catch up to their peers in their reading level. Hello! My name is Priscilla Takyi and I am student at the University of Texas at Austin (hook ’em horns!) majoring in Corporate Communications and minoring in Business. I am proud to serve as the Marketing Coordinator for Momentum Education and provide greater visibility about the events, services, and opportunities Momentum provides to students in the Houston area!

Before my involvement with the organization, I was a junior in high school who had limited access to resources to advance myself for my future career. Coming from a socio-economically disadvantaged household, it was difficult for me to have access to technology to network and search for opportunities such as pre-medical school advice and internships. Most of the information I got was from my teachers and counselor.
All of that changed when I received this white card with instructions from my counselor. Out of curiosity, I followed the instructions on it and then what do you know…it lead to me to Momentum Education! …
